Manchester sport, ground by ground

ATCO British Open Squash Championships

Fixtures and the calendarPublished

A championship with this name does not move around much, and for a stretch of seasons it was played in Manchester — on the moveable glass court at Sportcity rather than in a converted hall.

That is the detail worth taking from the entry: a title of this age goes to the city that has already built the show court and can seat a crowd around it. The court itself is described in the National Squash Centre record.
