Matchday in the cityPublished

The prize draw was the programme’s reader-facing promotion: a sporting weekend in the city given away to whoever entered, run alongside the bid campaign rather than as a commercial competition.

Entry closed long ago and the page is kept for the record. It is worth a look as an artefact of how a city markets itself: the prize was not a cash sum but access — a start place, a stadium tour, a dinner and a bed. The clauses that governed it are on the terms and conditions page, kept in full.
