Co-Operative World Netball Series
The world series was netball’s attempt at a short-format showcase: the leading nations, a condensed weekend, and rule changes written to make the game quicker on television.
The entry is useful now mostly as evidence of how a sport goes looking for an audience — shorten the game, bring the field to one hall, sell it as a spectacle. Netball kept the format; other sports copied the idea. The arena it was played in is part of the Sportcity cluster.
Watch the world’s top six netball nations – England, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Malawi and Jamaica - over three days of fast, ferocious and vibrant competition. Featuring innovative rule changes designed to test the fitness, technical ability and tactical awareness of the best players in the world, along with an exciting new format, it promises to be a high energy and awesome spectacle.
